Yakuza Weapon is a 1996 manga by Ken Ishikawa that was adapted into a live-action movie by Tak Sakaguchi last year. Sakaguchi is a well-established talent, but I know him best from Sakigake!! Otokojuku, another manga adaptation he also directed and starred in.
The credits sequence at the end of Yakuza Weapon is full of panels from Ishikawa’s manga. I really hope to be able to read it someday!
